A
kidnappers den located at Nkporo community of Ohafia LGA of Abia State
was today demolished on the instruction of the state governor, Okezie
Ikpeazu.
The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has displayed his
determination to rid the State of all forms of criminal elements as
security operatives supervised the demolition of criminal infrastructure
with the knocking down of buildings used for kidnap activities.
The buildings, located at Nkporo community of Ohafia Local
Government Area of Abia State, were demolished today the 15th of April
2016.
Captain Awa Udensi, who addressed the press, thanked the security
agents for heeding to the call of the people by intervening rapidly to
apprehend the kidnappers and as well rescue the victim who was earlier
shot and kidnapped by his abductors at Aba on 6th April 2016.
He encouraged Abians to expose any suspected element in their
communities and abodes. He exclaimed that the demolition of the
buildings will serve as a strong warning signal against perpetrators of
this horrific crime.
It should be noted that the law supports that any operational bases of kidnappers be demolished.
