The
Super Eagles have returned with their tails between their legs after
their failure to qualify for next year's Nations Cup in Africa.
Nigerian Super Eagles and officials returned from Cairo, Egypt
early on Wednesday quietly looking so disappointed after falling 1-0 to
the Pharaohs thereby failing to qualify for the 2017 Nations Cup in
Gabon.
According to New Telegraph, unlike in the past, no official was on ground to welcome the players at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja as they sneaked in like orphans.
England-based trio of Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho flew directly to England from Alexandria after the match Tuesday night while the duo of Umar Aminu and Azubuike Okechukwu returned to Turkey from Egypt.
While most of the players could not grant press interviews at the airport, Arsenal youngster, Alex Iwobi, hurriedly left the team to catch up with his connecting flight to London.
