Popular Nollywood actor, Ernest Azuzu, who had been absent from the
screens due to his health condition and had been battling with stroke
since August 2015, has debunked rumours making the rounds online and
social media that he was dead.
The renowned actor also claimed that he did not receive any sort of
help from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to fight the condition.
Speaking with Daily Independent, he said, "For the period I was
hospitalised, nobody from Nollywood, not even the president, Ibinabo
Fiberesima, visited me, and she heard that I was admitted there.
"My friends told her that I was down with stroke and she pretended as if she didn’t hear. It’s not fair. I’m a human being too.
"I am limping right now, because I have stroke. I am limping
because my people don’t care. I’m limping because the industry is
already messed up," he said.
It will be recalled that news of his death came spreading like wild
fire the same day his colleague, Ceejay Perez, died in a fatal motor
accident in Onitsha, Anambra State. But addressing the rumours, the
actor, known for his 'bad boy' roles, took to his Facebook page to say
he is not dead.
"My name is Ernest Chidozie Azuzu. Please I am not dead, for
the people carrying rumours that their enemy is dead. I just wish them
long life but this has proven what God said that people like me will not
die because God is the maker of life," he stated.
